Renfrewshire ADP has recurited a Graduate Intern who will work to encourage communities to get involved in the Alcohol Licensing process.
Every premise which sells alcohol must have an alcohol license, which is obtained by applying to Renfrewshire Licensing Board. The Licensing Board, which is made of up local councillors, is able to take advice from lawyers, the applicant, Police Scotland and Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) as to whether the application should be granted. Community members are also able to object or comment on licence applications by completing forms which are available here
Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) have developed a Community Licensing Toolkit which is a helpful guide for community members who would like to participate in the Licensing process. It is available here
Natasha, our Graduate Intern, will be able to support community groups should they wish to make objections or represenations to the Licensing Board. You can get in touch with Natasha if you'd like some support with an objection or representation.
